Tom Plays It Safe, Scott Goes Big or Bust
Two overlapping names this week — Kendrick Bourne at WR and the Panthers at DST — but the philosophies around them are night and day. One manager spread salary evenly across a balanced roster. The other loaded up at QB and RB and left the receiver room running on fumes. As Scott has lost several weeks in a row now…Tom continues to pick one starting player for his lineup. This week, Scott has been “gifted” Omarion Hampton at RB. Yikes!
Tom’s Week 6 Lineup
QB Kirk Cousins (Bills @ Raiders), $5,400, facing the 30th-ranked defense.
RB James Cook III (Bills @ Raiders), $7,400, facing the 22nd-ranked defense.
RB Kenneth Williams (Cardinals @ Rams), $6,800, facing the 16th-ranked defense.
WR Kendrick Bourne (Cardinals @ Rams), $4,000, facing the 6th-ranked defense.
WR Drake London (Bears @ Falcons), $7,000, facing the 20th-ranked defense.
WR Tre Tucker (Bills @ Raiders), $4,700, facing the 32nd-ranked defense.
TE Tyler Higbee (Cardinals @ Rams), $3,400, facing the 28th-ranked defense.
FLEX Kenneth Walker III (Chargers @ Chiefs), $8,500, facing the 20th-ranked defense.
DST Panthers (Panthers @ Eagles), $2,500, facing a 7.8 FPPG allowed average.
Scott’s Week 6 Lineup
QB Josh Allen (Bills @ Raiders), $7,500, facing the 28th-ranked defense.
RB Omarion Hampton (Chargers @ Chiefs), $5,300, facing the 12th-ranked defense.
RB Bijan Robinson (Bears @ Falcons), $8,700, facing the 8th-ranked defense.
WR Giovani Bernard (Steelers @ Buccaneers), $4,000, facing the 13th-ranked defense.
WR Kendrick Bourne (Cardinals @ Rams), $4,000, facing the 6th-ranked defense.
WR Luther Burden III (Bears @ Falcons), $5,400, facing the 27th-ranked defense.
TE Dalton Kincaid (Bills @ Raiders), $5,100, facing the 27th-ranked defense.
FLEX Brock Bowers (Bills @ Raiders), $7,500, facing the 21st-ranked defense.
DST Panthers (Panthers @ Eagles), $2,500, facing a 7.8 FPPG allowed average.
Color Commentary
Scott’s spending tells the whole story: $7,500 on Allen, $8,700 on Robinson, $7,500 on Bowers — nearly half his cap locked into three names, with the receiver room left to subsist on $4,000 and $5,400 scraps. That’s a build betting everything on three stars carrying the week outright, which is either genius or a disaster depending on whether those three actually show up. Tom, meanwhile, spread it almost evenly across all nine spots, with Walker III as the lone premium investment at FLEX. No single point of failure, but also no single ceiling play big enough to run away with it on its own. Both managers are rostering Bourne against a tough 6th-ranked defense, so at least they agree on one bad idea together.
