MORNING FANTASY REPORT — SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2026

MORNING THEME

Availability comes first. Finalize Houston–Jacksonville decisions before the 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff. David Montgomery is officially inactive, putting Woody Marks in the starting role. The biggest change from yesterday’s briefing: NFL.com now reports Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve and will miss at least four games, superseding earlier reporting that Philadelphia did not plan to use IR.

PLAYER UPDATES AND FANTASY MOVES

DAVID MONTGOMERY / WOODY MARKS
Update: Montgomery is inactive for London; Marks starts.
Fantasy move: Marks is a volume-based RB2/flex, not an automatic start over established options. Jacksonville presents a difficult rushing matchup. Receiving work makes him more attractive in PPR.

JALEN HURTS
Update: Placed on injured reserve. Tanner McKee starts against Carolina.
Fantasy move: Use an eligible IR slot if available and find a multiweek quarterback replacement rather than a one-game patch.

LAMAR JACKSON
Update: Out with an ankle injury. Tyler Huntley starts again.
Fantasy move: Bench Jackson. In a single-QB league, investigate Jordan Love, Kirk Cousins or Tyler Shough before settling for an emergency option.

SAQUON BARKLEY / WILL SHIPLEY / DAMEON PIERCE
Update: Barkley and Shipley are out. Pierce leads Philadelphia’s remaining backfield.
Fantasy move: Pierce is a workload-based RB2/flex. The opportunity helps, but Philadelphia’s depleted offense adds scoring risk. Do not assume normal Eagles scoring efficiency with McKee at quarterback.

JEREMIYAH LOVE / TYLER ALLGEIER
Update: Love is out with an ankle injury.
Fantasy move: Allgeier is a priority replacement RB2, particularly in standard scoring given his expected rushing and goal-line opportunity.

KYLE MONANGAI / D’ANDRE SWIFT
Update: Monangai is out, increasing Swift’s opportunity.
Fantasy move: Keep Swift in starting lineups despite the difficult matchup.

RASHEE RICE / XAVIER WORTHY
Update: Rice is out. Kansas City is also without Tyquan Thornton.
Fantasy move: Worthy is a viable wide receiver replacement. Keep Travis Kelce in starting lineups.

CALEB WILLIAMS
Update: Expected to start.
Fantasy move: Playable if needed, but confirm official inactives and account for return-from-injury risk.

A.J. BROWN
Update: New England activated Brown, and he is expected to play.
Fantasy move: Playable after checking official inactives, with some uncertainty surrounding his workload upon returning.

SUNDAY WATCH LIST

EARLY LOCK — 9:30 AM ET
Houston–Jacksonville kicks off in London. Montgomery is officially inactive. Resolve decisions involving Marks and other players in that game before kickoff.

BEFORE THE 1 PM GAMES
Check Quinshon Judkins, Tyler Warren, Chris Olave, Alvin Kamara and Pat Freiermuth. Freiermuth’s Saturday addition to the injury report makes a backup tight end especially useful.

BUFFALO’S LATE WINDOW
DJ Moore and Joshua Palmer remain questionable in the retrieved reports—not confirmed out. Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman are replacement candidates if absences open opportunity.

MONDAY-NIGHT EXPOSURE
Stefon Diggs and Mike Evans are questionable. Avoid waiting without a same-game replacement. NBC reports Terry McLaurin was removed from the injury report Saturday.

STATUS CONFLICT — TREVEYON HENDERSON
ESPN lists Henderson among players ruled out, while NBC retains a questionable designation. Verify official inactives before treating his absence as final. Rhamondre Stevenson remains the back to prioritize.

MARKET MOVERS — IN-SEASON OPPORTUNITY

RISING RUNNING BACK OPPORTUNITY
Tyler Allgeier, Dameon Pierce, Woody Marks and D’Andre Swift benefit from injured teammates. These are role-based upgrades, not guarantees of efficient production or measured changes in trade value.

RECEIVER TO INVESTIGATE
Pittsburgh’s Germie Bernard has a larger opening with Michael Pittman Jr., Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek unavailable. Consider him a replacement option rather than a guaranteed high-volume starter.

HOLD / STASH
Keep Hurts in an eligible IR slot if possible and Jackson on the bench. Their absences create replacement needs, not automatic drop decisions.

WORKLOAD WARNING
Ladd McConkey has no final injury designation, but ESPN notes he was active last week without playing a snap. Active status alone does not guarantee a normal role.

FRANCHISE-BY-FRANCHISE FANTASY NOTES

HOUSTON / JACKSONVILLE
Marks replaces Montgomery. Jacksonville’s published inactive list contains no core fantasy starter. Finalize London decisions before the early lock.

PHILADELPHIA
Hurts is on IR, and Barkley and Shipley are out. Pierce is the primary replacement back. DeVonta Smith returns without an injury designation but carries quarterback-environment risk with McKee starting.

BALTIMORE / CLEVELAND
Jackson is out, and Huntley starts. Zay Flowers is cleared but has a reduced passing ceiling. Judkins remains questionable; investigate Jaleel McLaughlin as a conditional replacement if Judkins sits.

CHICAGO / ATLANTA
Williams is expected back, while Swift gains opportunity with Monangai out. Michael Penix Jr. is cleared, supporting the normal outlook for Bijan Robinson and Drake London.

NEW ENGLAND / NEW YORK JETS
Brown is activated. Henderson’s status differs between retrieved reports, so confirm official inactives. Stevenson remains the back to prioritize. Braelon Allen retains replacement appeal while Breece Hall is sidelined.

PITTSBURGH / TAMPA BAY
Jaylen Warren remains the lead-back recommendation despite a possible Rico Dowdle return. Bernard is a receiver streaming option; monitor Freiermuth. Baker Mayfield has not resumed throwing, according to NBC, adding quarterback risk for Tampa Bay pass catchers.

KANSAS CITY / LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Rice’s absence boosts the opportunity for Worthy and Kelce. McConkey and Quentin Johnston have no final injury designation, but active status is not a guarantee of full usage.

BUFFALO / LAS VEGAS
Moore and Palmer are questionable. Shakir offers the safer replacement profile, while Coleman carries more boom-or-bust appeal. Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty have no final injury designation.

ARIZONA / NEW ORLEANS / INDIANAPOLIS
Allgeier steps in for Love. Olave and Kamara require inactive checks. Warren’s late groin designation warrants a tight end backup; Tyler Higbee or Juwan Johnson are candidates to investigate.

WASHINGTON / SAN FRANCISCO
Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s absence boosts Rachaad White to flex consideration, with greater appeal in PPR. Deebo Samuel is out; Brandin Cooks is a contingency option for Monday. Evans and Diggs require late monitoring.

STRATEGY NOTE

In standard/non-PPR, favor credible rushing, yardage and touchdown opportunity over catch volume alone. Allgeier and Pierce fit that replacement profile. Marks’ difficult rushing matchup warrants more caution, while his receiving opportunity provides a stronger cushion in PPR.

Resolve early-game decisions first, and preserve a later-game replacement when waiting on a questionable player. Do not confuse a projected lead role with guaranteed production.
