THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FANTASY RECAP
Broncos 17, Seahawks 14 (OT) | Week 6
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the fantasy star Thursday night, hauling in 12 catches for 134 yards on 16 targets. Denver escaped with an overtime victory, but its offense produced just 168 total yards, leaving plenty of concerns for fantasy managers.
FANTASY WINNER: JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA
JSN delivered 25.4 PPR points without scoring a touchdown. He overcame a slow first half and now has five 100-yard performances in six games. Seattle’s unusually high 51 pass attempts helped, but the takeaway remains simple: JSN is an automatic weekly start.
SEATTLE BACKFIELD: TOUCHDOWN DOESN’T TELL THE WHOLE STORY
Emanuel Wilson rushed 14 times for 52 yards, while George Holani scored Seattle’s lone touchdown on a one-yard run. Holani’s score did not signal a takeover, however, as Velus Jones Jr. also worked into the rotation.
Wilson’s window could narrow soon. Zach Charbonnet has a chance to debut in Week 7, and Jadarian Price is eligible to return a week later. Neither return is guaranteed, but this backfield is becoming harder to trust.
DENVER BACKFIELD: TOUCHDOWNS SAVE THE NIGHT
J.K. Dobbins finished with 17 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. The score salvaged his fantasy performance, but his 2.4 yards per carry highlighted Denver’s struggles on the ground.
RJ Harvey also scored a rushing touchdown and added three catches for 31 yards. He took over the primary third-down role after Tyler Badie exited with a thumb injury, but rookie Jonah Coleman’s eligibility to return next week adds another variable to the committee.
QUARTERBACKS: A NIGHT TO FORGET
Bo Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for just 107 yards with no passing touchdowns. Denver’s win did little to improve his outlook as a fantasy starter in one-quarterback leagues.
Sam Darnold threw for 278 yards but had no passing touchdowns and two interceptions. His 19 rushing yards brought him to approximately 9.0 fantasy points under standard four-point passing touchdown and minus-two interception scoring.
OTHER RECEIVING TAKEAWAYS
Rashid Shaheed caught five passes for 66 yards and added a two-point conversion, though he also lost a fumble. The receiving production was encouraging, but Tory Horton’s involvement cut into his playing time in two-tight-end formations. This was a useful outing—not confirmation of a dependable weekly role.
Jaylen Waddle left with a shoulder issue before halftime but returned in the third quarter. Fantasy managers should monitor his practice participation heading into next week.
INJURY WATCH
Jaylen Waddle: Returned after a shoulder issue.
Tyler Badie: Left with a thumb injury and did not return.
Elijah Arroyo: Left with a shoulder injury.
WAIVER-WIRE WATCH
Check the availability of Zach Charbonnet and Jonah Coleman ahead of their possible returns. Both could alter their respective backfields, although neither is guaranteed an immediate lead role. Avoid spending aggressively on Holani solely because he scored Thursday night.
