MORNING FANTASY REPORT — SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2026

MORNING THEME

Availability comes first this weekend. Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Baker Mayfield, Saquon Barkley, Breece Hall and Rashee Rice are ruled out. Houston–Jacksonville kicks off Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET in London, so finalize decisions involving that game before the early lock.

PLAYER UPDATES AND FANTASY MOVES

LAMAR JACKSON, QB — BALTIMORE
Update: Out with an ankle injury.
Fantasy move: Secure a replacement now rather than waiting for Sunday.

JALEN HURTS, QB — PHILADELPHIA
Update: Out. The league injury report lists a calf injury.
Fantasy move: Replace him. Bryce Young is a streaming candidate; FantasyPros ranks him inside its Week 6 top 10 quarterbacks.

BAKER MAYFIELD, QB — TAMPA BAY
Update: Out with a right thumb injury.
Fantasy move: Replace Mayfield and lower expectations for Tampa Bay’s passing-game options.

SAQUON BARKLEY AND WILL SHIPLEY, RB — PHILADELPHIA
Update: Both out.
Fantasy move: Dameon Pierce projects for the lead role, but Philadelphia’s weakened offense makes him an emergency flex rather than an automatic start.

DAVID MONTGOMERY, RB — HOUSTON
Update: Out with a groin injury.
Fantasy move: Woody Marks gains opportunity. Consider him a low-end RB2 against a difficult Jacksonville run defense, with a stronger case in PPR. Finalize this decision before Sunday’s London kickoff.

BREECE HALL, RB — NEW YORK JETS
Update: Out with a quad injury.
Fantasy move: Remove him from your lineup. Do not assume a replacement inherits his entire workload.

JEREMIYAH LOVE, RB — ARIZONA
Update: Out with an ankle injury.
Fantasy move: Find a healthy replacement rather than counting on a late change in status.

RASHEE RICE, WR — KANSAS CITY
Update: Out.
Fantasy move: Replace him. His absence strengthens Travis Kelce’s target opportunity.

TANK DELL, WR — HOUSTON
Update: Out with a knee injury.
Fantasy move: Remove him from your starting lineup before the early Sunday kickoff.

CALEB WILLIAMS, QB — CHICAGO
Update: Questionable with a hamstring injury.
Fantasy move: Keep a healthy quarterback alternative ready. Questionable does not mean ruled out.

A.J. BROWN AND TREVEYON HENDERSON — NEW ENGLAND
Update: Both questionable with ankle injuries.
Fantasy move: Prepare separate receiver and running back alternatives while awaiting final availability.

ASHTON JEANTY AND BROCK BOWERS — LAS VEGAS
Update: Both finished Friday with full practices and no game designation.
Fantasy move: Keep them in your plans. The full Raiders injury report does not list either player as out.

DJ MOORE AND JOSHUA PALMER — BUFFALO
Update: Both questionable with shoulder injuries.
Fantasy move: Their 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff creates replacement risk. Retain a later-playing alternative if you plan to wait on either player.

WAIVER PRIORITIES

These are players to check, not confirmation that they are available in your league.

WOODY MARKS, RB — HOUSTON

Montgomery’s absence creates a clearer workload opportunity. Jacksonville’s defense limits enthusiasm, but Marks belongs in the low-end RB2 conversation. His receiving ability makes him more attractive in PPR.

JALEN COKER, WR — CAROLINA

FantasyPros ranks Coker as a midrange WR2 returning from a quad injury, citing his matchup against Philadelphia’s slot coverage. He is a consideration in both formats, with additional appeal in PPR.

BRYCE YOUNG, QB — CAROLINA

A one-week replacement candidate for managers missing Jackson, Hurts or Mayfield. FantasyPros places him inside its top 10 quarterbacks this week. Treat that as an analyst ranking, not a guaranteed outcome.

DAMEON PIERCE, RB — PHILADELPHIA

Add him if you need projected touches. Temper expectations because Philadelphia is also missing Hurts and has struggled with run blocking. Opportunity alone does not guarantee useful fantasy production.

GERMIE BERNARD, WR — PITTSBURGH

A speculative WR3 or flex option with Pittsburgh short at receiver. Monitor DK Metcalf’s questionable designation because his availability could affect the remaining targets.

PAT FREIERMUTH, TE — PITTSBURGH

A streaming consideration because Pittsburgh’s receiver absences could increase his involvement.

START/SIT TIEBREAKERS

TONY POLLARD
Standard: RB2 consideration against Indianapolis.
PPR: Receiving opportunity adds potential upside, although his reception production has been limited so far.

WOODY MARKS
Standard: Low-end RB2 with a difficult rushing matchup.
PPR: Receiving ability strengthens his case.

BLAKE CORUM
Standard: A more cautious flex consideration.
PPR: Increased passing-game usage makes him more appealing.

MARSHAWN LLOYD
Standard: Do not chase last week’s two touchdowns without accounting for shared work.
PPR: The workload concern remains; receptions do not automatically make him a safe start.

EMEKA EGBUKA
Standard: Lower expectations with Mayfield out.
PPR: Catches help, but FantasyPros notes limited yardage production with the backup quarterback.

TRAVIS KELCE
Standard: TE1 consideration.
PPR: Rice’s absence and Derwin James being out strengthen the target-based case.

FRANCHISE WATCH

HOUSTON / JACKSONVILLE
Montgomery and Dell are out. Marks is the main workload story. Remember the early Sunday lock.

PHILADELPHIA / CAROLINA
Hurts, Barkley and Shipley are out. Pierce is an emergency-volume option; Young and Coker are options on the Carolina side. Carolina running back Trevor Etienne is questionable.

BALTIMORE / CLEVELAND
Jackson is out. Quinshon Judkins is questionable, and Dylan Sampson is out.

CHICAGO / ATLANTA
Williams is questionable. Kyle Monangai is out, creating another Chicago availability issue.

NEW YORK JETS / NEW ENGLAND
Hall and Adonai Mitchell are out. Brown and Henderson are questionable.

NEW ORLEANS / NEW YORK GIANTS
Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave are questionable. Giants tight end Theo Johnson is out.

TENNESSEE / INDIANAPOLIS
Tyjae Spears and Tyler Warren are questionable.

PITTSBURGH / TAMPA BAY
Metcalf and Rico Dowdle are questionable. Roman Wilson, Ben Skowronek and Mayfield are out.

ARIZONA / LOS ANGELES RAMS
Love is out.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS / KANSAS CITY
Rice and Tre Harris are out.

BUFFALO / LAS VEGAS
Moore and Palmer are questionable. Jeanty and Bowers have no game designation on the Raiders’ Friday report.

DALLAS / GREEN BAY
Savion Williams is questionable. Skyy Moore is out.

WASHINGTON / SAN FRANCISCO
Monday’s final designations were not populated in the retrieved league report. Blank entries should not be treated as confirmation that everyone is healthy.

IN-SEASON MARKET MOVERS

Improving opportunity:
Woody Marks, Jalen Coker, Germie Bernard and Pat Freiermuth.

More projected work, but substantial risk:
Dameon Pierce.

Avoid a touchdown-driven overreaction:
MarShawn Lloyd.

These are qualitative opportunity assessments, not measured changes in ADP or trade value.

SATURDAY STRATEGY

STANDARD / NON-PPR
Prioritize rushing volume, yardage and touchdown opportunity. Be careful with Pierce: projected touches in a weakened offense do not automatically create a strong start. Marks also faces a difficult rushing matchup.

PPR
Give additional weight to Marks’ receiving ability, Coker’s target outlook and Corum’s passing-game involvement.

TODAY’S PRIORITY
Fill quarterback and running back vacancies before chasing marginal flex upgrades. Resolve your Houston–Jacksonville decisions before Sunday’s 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff, and preserve a later-game alternative if you are waiting on Moore or Palmer.
