MORNING FANTASY REPORT — WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2026

LEAGUE FOCUS
12-team, 1-QB Sleeper league
Advice included for both PPR and standard/non-PPR scoring

MORNING THEME

Week 1 begins tonight with Patriots at Seahawks at 8:20 PM EDT. The 49ers-Rams game follows Thursday at 8:35 PM EDT.

For any player in tonight’s or Thursday’s game, place them in their specific RB, WR, or TE slot—not your flex—unless you are completely certain you will start them. Keep your flex open for Sunday injury news and lineup pivots.

Seattle is a 3.5-point favorite over New England, with a 44.5-point game total. Expect a competitive opener rather than a guaranteed shootout.espn

PRIORITY PLAYER UPDATES

TREVEYON HENDERSON, RB — PATRIOTS
Update: Henderson has missed practice with an ankle issue. Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to start even if Henderson is active.Memory

PPR: Bench Henderson unless your alternatives are extremely limited.
STANDARD: Bench Henderson. The missed practice time and uncertain workload make him too risky in a touchdown-driven format.

RHAMONDRE STEVENSON, RB — PATRIOTS
Update: Henderson’s questionable status gives Stevenson the clearest path to lead-back work for New England.Memory

PPR: Startable RB2 or flex because his receiving usage improves the floor.
STANDARD: Startable RB2, though expectations should be tempered in a difficult road matchup.

GEORGE KITTLE, TE — 49ERS
Update: Kittle is practicing at full speed after his Achilles injury, but his Week 1 workload could still be managed.Memory

PPR: Start if your alternative is outside the top tier at tight end, but keep a fallback plan ready.
STANDARD: He is more volatile in non-PPR. Start him over ordinary streamers, but do not ignore a safer strong option.

MIKE EVANS, WR — 49ERS
Update: Evans has said his camp injuries were not significant and he appears set to play Thursday.Memory

PPR: Confident WR2 or WR3 play.
STANDARD: Strong start. His touchdown profile gives him a slight boost in non-PPR, especially if Kittle is managed.

PUKA NACUA, WR — RAMS
Update: Sean McVay expects Nacua to play Thursday after his psoas issue.Memory

PPR: Start with confidence; the reception ceiling is too valuable to bench.
STANDARD: Start him as well, though PPR better captures his volume-based upside.

ASHTON JEANTY, RB — RAIDERS
Update: Jeanty’s ankle injury is considered non-major, and the Raiders have been optimistic about his Week 1 availability. Mike Washington Jr. is the key contingency option.Memory

PPR: If active, start Jeanty as an upside RB2. Add Washington if you have bench space.
STANDARD: If active, Jeanty is an even stronger play because his rushing and goal-line profile carry more weight.

ROME ODUNZE, WR — BEARS
Update: Odunze missed Monday after leaving practice last week. Early indications were optimistic, but today’s practice participation matters.Memory

PPR: Treat as a cautious WR3 or flex until he is fully cleared.
STANDARD: Consider safer options if he remains questionable or limited.

JEREMIYAH LOVE, RB — CARDINALS
Update: Love is progressing from a high-ankle sprain, but his availability and early workload remain uncertain. Tyler Allgeier could take valuable short-yardage work.Memory

PPR: Avoid unless he is active and reports indicate a normal role.
STANDARD: Avoid in most lineups. Any reduction in goal-line work substantially lowers the upside.

TONIGHT’S LINEUP EDGE

START RHAMONDRE STEVENSON over fringe flex options if you need a stable volume projection. Henderson’s missed practice time makes Stevenson New England’s clearest early-down option.

DO NOT FORCE TREVEYON HENDERSON into a Week 1 lineup. Even if he is active, Stevenson is likely to begin the game as the lead back.

KEEP KITTLE OUT OF YOUR FLEX SPOT Thursday. The potential for a managed workload makes it important to retain Sunday flexibility.

PPR STRATEGY NOTE

Prioritize players who can earn targets and receptions over similarly ranked touchdown-dependent options.

Nacua, Evans, and Stevenson carry stronger PPR floors than players who need a score to pay off.

If you are deciding between an uncertain running-back workload and a receiver with dependable targets, PPR gives you more reason to choose the receiver.

STANDARD STRATEGY NOTE

Prioritize carries, short-yardage snaps, goal-line work, and overall touchdown access.

Give Stevenson and Jeanty a boost over reception-dependent flex plays. Give Evans a small bump over comparable receivers because of his end-zone potential.

In standard scoring, bench questionable players more aggressively. A limited player who loses goal-line work can become nearly unusable.

WAIVER AND BENCH TARGETS

MIKE WASHINGTON JR., RB — RAIDERS
Contingent add behind Jeanty while the ankle situation remains active.Memory

TYLER ALLGEIER, RB — CARDINALS
Worth holding if Love’s recovery limits his early-season workload or gives Allgeier short-yardage responsibility.Memory

LUTHER BURDEN III, WR — BEARS
Speculative PPR addition if Odunze’s health develops into a limitation or absence.Memory

COLSTON LOVELAND, TE — BEARS
Conditional upside option if Chicago is thin at wide receiver and needs more contribution from the tight-end group.
