MORNING FANTASY REPORT — THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2026

LEAGUE FOCUS
12-team, 1-QB Sleeper league
Advice for both PPR and standard/non-PPR scoring

MORNING THEME

Week 1 is underway, and 49ers-Rams is tonight at 8:35 PM EDT. For all Thursday-night players, use their specific RB, WR, or TE position slot rather than your flex whenever possible. Keeping the flex open preserves your ability to pivot on Sunday injury news.

THURSDAY NIGHT WATCH

CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, RB — 49ERS
McCaffrey remains an automatic start in all formats. Monitor pregame news for any indication of a workload restriction, but do not bench him for a lesser option based solely on early-week injury chatter.

GEORGE KITTLE, TE — 49ERS
Kittle has been limited in practice. Start him if active, but make sure you have a viable Sunday tight end available as a contingency in case his status changes before kickoff.

PUKA NACUA, WR — RAMS
Nacua is expected to play through a groin issue and remains a strong start in both PPR and standard leagues. In standard scoring, a surprise pregame limitation would make healthy touchdown-upside alternatives more appealing.

TYLER HIGBEE, TE — RAMS
Higbee is a risk after missing practice. If you have a comparable healthy tight end playing Sunday, it is reasonable to wait rather than locking yourself into a Thursday zero.

HIGH-IMPACT INJURIES

TREVEYON HENDERSON, RB — PATRIOTS
Out with an ankle injury. Watch New England’s backfield closely, but do not chase a committee runner without clear evidence of early-down and goal-line volume.

JOSH JACOBS, RB — PACKERS
Unavailable to open the season. Monitor the Packers’ replacement backfield for a runner who earns meaningful carries or short-yardage work.

MICHAEL PENIX JR., QB — FALCONS
Out with a knee injury. In a 1-QB league, move to a healthy starter rather than holding an inactive quarterback through Week 1.

ROME ODUNZE, WR — BEARS
Limited with a calf issue. He is a possible start if cleared, but PPR managers should favor a healthy receiver with a stable target outlook if uncertainty continues into Sunday.

WAIVER PRIORITIES

Contingent running backs remain the best bench investments in standard/non-PPR formats. A backup who could inherit 12-plus touches after an injury is more valuable than a low-ceiling, reception-dependent WR4.

In PPR leagues, monitor Chicago’s secondary pass catchers if Odunze’s injury worsens or leads to a reduced role.

Do not overreact to Wednesday’s opener. One game matters only if the usage tells a clear story: snap share, routes run, goal-line work, and whether a player was trusted in high-leverage situations.

START/SIT EDGE

STANDARD/NON-PPR
Prioritize carries, goal-line work, and touchdown equity. In close calls, take the healthy running back projected for 15 touches over an injured receiver who needs volume to pay off.

PPR
Favor healthy receivers with reliable route participation and target potential. Reception floor is valuable, especially when a player’s touchdown role is uncertain.

UGLY WIN MOVE

Do one final roster check 60–90 minutes before 49ers-Rams. Confirm the status of McCaffrey, Kittle, Nacua, and Higbee, then keep your flex spot open for Sunday whenever possible.
