MORNING FANTASY REPORT — WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2026

Week 6 | Updated at 6:07 AM EDT

LEAGUE FOCUS
12-team Sleeper league, single-QB, standard/non-PPR.
PPR differences noted where relevant.

Prioritize replacement workloads over touchdown chasing. Woody Marks offers immediate running-back opportunity, while Zach Charbonnet remains a stash rather than a confirmed Week 6 starter. Reporting reviewed is primarily from October 12–13; Wednesday practice participation remains unconfirmed.

TOP WAIVER PRIORITIES

WOODY MARKS / DAVID MONTGOMERY — TEXANS

Update: Montgomery is week-to-week with a groin injury. Marks finished with 15 carries for 62 yards and four catches for 23 yards.

Fantasy move: Marks is the priority immediate running-back addition. Treat him as a flex with potential RB2 value if Montgomery misses Week 6. CBS recommends spending at least 20% of remaining FAAB.

ZACH CHARBONNET — SEAHAWKS

Update: NFL.com highlights his eventual starting upside, but CBS does not expect him to play Thursday at Denver.

Fantasy move: Stash for future value if available. Do not count on him as your Week 6 replacement starter. His immediate availability remains the key distinction between a useful stash and a lineup solution.

GERMIE BERNARD — STEELERS

Update: Bernard drew nine targets and caught six passes for 80 yards last week. Michael Pittman is on injured reserve, and Roman Wilson could miss multiple weeks.

Fantasy move: Add for receiving depth and potential flex use. His opportunity is improving, with greater relative appeal in PPR formats.

BRENTON STRANGE — JAGUARS

Update: Strange has 14 catches on 16 targets for 163 yards over his past two games.

Fantasy move: A preferred waiver-wire tight end for managers replacing a bye-week starter. His receiving volume helps more in PPR, but the yardage makes him relevant in standard scoring as well.

PAT FREIERMUTH — STEELERS

Update: Freiermuth caught five passes for 44 yards and a touchdown on seven targets last week. He has four touchdowns this season.

Fantasy move: A standard-scoring tight-end alternative with touchdown appeal, particularly while Pittsburgh’s receiving group is depleted.

FRANCHISE-BY-FRANCHISE INJURY WATCH

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Saquon Barkley could return this week. Dameon Pierce becomes a conditional flex option only if Barkley remains out. Will Shipley is expected to miss multiple weeks. Do not treat Pierce’s workload as secure before Barkley’s status is clarified.

CLEVELAND BROWNS
Quinshon Judkins has a foot injury, Raheim Sanders has a hip injury, and Dylan Sampson’s possible return from a knee injury adds another variable. Jaleel McLaughlin is a low-cost contingency addition, not a confirmed lead back.

DALLAS COWBOYS
Monitor CeeDee Lamb’s quadriceps injury. Ryan Flournoy becomes a deeper-league option if Lamb misses time, while Jake Ferguson could gain additional receiving opportunity.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Xavier Worthy becomes more attractive if Rashee Rice remains out with his hamstring injury. Keep the recommendation conditional until Rice’s availability is clearer.

BALTIMORE RAVENS
Monitor Lamar Jackson’s ankle. Tyler Huntley is an emergency quarterback option only if he is confirmed as the starter.

BUFFALO BILLS
D.J. Moore’s shoulder injury could affect the opportunities available to Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman. Monitor Moore’s availability before upgrading either receiver.

WAIVER-MARKET MOVERS

MOVING UP

  • Woody Marks: Potential lead-back workload.

  • Germie Bernard: More receiving opportunity amid injuries.

  • Brenton Strange: Sustained targets and receiving production.

  • Pat Freiermuth: Touchdown production and opportunity in a depleted passing game.

SPECULATIVE ADDS

  • Zach Charbonnet: Longer-term upside, but immediate availability is uncertain.

  • Dameon Pierce: Value depends on Barkley remaining out.

  • Cleveland backups: Multiple injury variables prevent a clear workload projection.

ROSTER-REVIEW CANDIDATES

  • Will Shipley: Expected multiweek absence.

  • Justin Herbert: Poor early production and a Week 7 bye.

  • Dalton Schultz: Increased target competition.

These are review candidates, not automatic drops without considering your roster and available replacements.

QUARTERBACK STREAMERS

  • Jordan Love vs. Dallas.

  • Aaron Rodgers at Tampa Bay.

  • Kirk Cousins vs. Buffalo.

In a single-QB league, consider these options when your starter is unavailable or the matchup offers a meaningful upgrade—not simply to add another bench quarterback.

DEFENSE STREAMERS

  1. Kansas City vs. Los Angeles Chargers.

  2. New York Giants vs. New Orleans.

  3. Indianapolis vs. Tennessee.

WEEK 6 BYES

Cincinnati Bengals
Detroit Lions
Miami Dolphins
Minnesota Vikings

Check every starting slot before using remaining roster space on speculative additions.

STRATEGY NOTE

STANDARD/NON-PPR
Prioritize rushing workload, yardage potential and touchdown opportunity. Marks is the first immediate running-back availability check. Pierce remains conditional on Barkley’s absence.

PPR
Bernard and Strange gain relative appeal because their opportunities are supported by targets and receptions.

LINEUP FLEXIBILITY
Separate immediate replacements from longer-term stashes. In particular, do not mistake Charbonnet’s future upside for confirmed Thursday availability. Reassess unresolved injury situations when Wednesday practice reports become available.
