MORNING FANTASY REPORT — FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

WEEKLY PRIORITY
You are in NFL Week 2. The main goal today is to monitor Friday practices, build contingencies for questionable starters, and preserve lineup flexibility for Sunday.

THURSDAY NIGHT FALLOUT

  • Buffalo WR DJ Moore exited Thursday night with a shoulder/neck injury and was ruled out. Monitor news for the diagnosis and begin identifying a potential replacement for next week.

  • Do not make major roster decisions based only on Thursday’s box score. One game should not outweigh role, usage, and injury context.

INJURY WATCHLIST

  • Tua Tagovailoa, ATL QB — Oblique injury; missed consecutive practices and is expected to miss Week 2. Bench in standard one-QB leagues and prepare a Superflex replacement if needed.

  • Kyler Murray, MIN QB — Concussion concern. Verify official status before locking him into lineups.

  • Joe Burrow, CIN QB — Back injury. Monitor Friday practice and final designation.

  • Nico Collins, HOU WR — Hamstring concern. Have a substitute ready if participation remains limited.

  • Chris Olave, NO WR — Hamstring concern. Do not assume a normal workload without a favorable Friday update.

  • Zay Flowers, BAL WR — Hamstring concern. Watch Friday practice closely.

  • Ladd McConkey, LAC WR — Rib injury; did not practice Wednesday. Treat as a risk/reward start until a final update arrives.

  • Brock Bowers, LV TE — Knee injury; did not practice Wednesday. Carry a backup tight end plan.

  • George Kittle, SF TE — Limited with an Achilles issue. Start only if active and you are comfortable with the health risk.

  • Alvin Kamara, NO RB — Knee issue. Wait for final status before making late lineup or waiver decisions.

  • TreVeyon Henderson, NE RB — Full practice participant despite an ankle issue. More positive than most injury situations, but still check final status.

START/SIT RULES FOR TODAY

  • Start healthy projected volume over a similarly ranked player carrying an injury question.

  • Favor players with stable snaps, carries, routes, targets, and red-zone work.

  • Do not overreact to one breakout game or one disappointing Week 1 performance.

  • Put players in later games in your FLEX spot whenever possible.

  • Do not leave yourself without a viable backup if you start a questionable quarterback or tight end.

  • At tight end, avoid chasing snap share alone. A player who runs few routes or receives no targets is not a reliable streamer.

ROSTER MANAGEMENT

  • Review every starter with a Q, D, or limited-practice tag.

  • Check Friday practice reports this afternoon.

  • Identify one backup option for each injured starter.

  • Keep bench space available for emerging roles, injury replacements, and Sunday-morning news.

  • Do not panic-drop established players after one week unless role deterioration is clear.

  • After Sunday, prioritize waiver targets with rising snap shares, routes, target shares, carries, goal-line usage, or a newly opened role.

WEEK 3 EARLY LOOK

  • Week 3 opens Thursday, September 24: Atlanta at Green Bay.

  • Upcoming Week 3 matchups include Chargers at Bills, Chiefs at Dolphins, Bengals at Steelers, Texans at Colts, and Ravens at Cowboys.

  • Begin considering injury replacements and bench stashes now, before the next waiver cycle.

TODAY’S EDGE
Turn injury uncertainty into lineup flexibility. Check the Friday reports, set backup plans before Sunday morning, and avoid forcing questionable players into rigid lineup spots.
