MORNING FANTASY REPORT — FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2026
League focus: 12-team standard, non-PPR, 1-QB Sleeper format

Week 1 decisions should be built around confirmed availability and early-down/goal-line roles. In standard scoring, prioritize rushing volume and touchdown access over reception-driven floors.

PRIORITY PLAYER UPDATES

Tee Higgins, WR — Bengals
Update: Higgins is dealing with a heel contusion and is expected to be limited during the week, but Bengals coach Zac Taylor expects him to be ready by the end of the week. This is not a torn ACL or a long-term injury.
Fantasy move: Keep Higgins in your WR2 range. Do not materially drop him in drafts; only make a minor Week 1 adjustment if his practice status deteriorates or Cincinnati declares him inactive.

Ja’Marr Chase, WR — Bengals
Update: Chase has been limited by a knee issue, though the Bengals have indicated optimism that he will be ready for the opener.
Fantasy move: Maintain elite-WR valuation. Check the final designation, but do not overreact to a limited early-week workload.

Ashton Jeanty, RB — Raiders
Update: Jeanty is working through an ankle issue. He made the 53-man roster and remains a possible Week 1 participant, but no firm return timetable has been provided.
Fantasy move: Draft the talent, but build in contingency depth. In standard scoring, avoid making him your only reliable early-season RB.

Zay Flowers, WR — Ravens
Update: Flowers is day-to-day with a quad contusion, with no official Week 1 game designation reported yet.
Fantasy move: Keep him as a WR3/flex target, but be prepared to pivot if Baltimore limits him late in the week.

George Kittle, TE — 49ers
Update: Kittle was activated from active PUP on August 23 and has resumed individual work, but his Week 1 availability has not been confirmed.
Fantasy move: Do not pay a premium without a backup plan. If drafting Kittle, pair him with a usable late-round tight end.

Zach Charbonnet, RB — Seahawks
Update: Charbonnet is recovering from an ACL injury and is unavailable for at least the first four games on Reserve/PUP.
Fantasy move: Do not draft him for immediate production. Deep benches only; monitor Seattle’s active backfield for early-season contingency value.

Tank Dell, WR — Texans
Update: Dell is on injured reserve with a return designation as he recovers from a knee injury.
Fantasy move: Reserve him for deeper benches or IR spots only. Do not count on him for September production.

DRAFT-MARKET MOVERS

MOVE UP

  • Healthy starting RBs with projected goal-line work and secure 15-plus touch roles

  • Receivers with stable routes and high red-zone usage, especially on offenses with proven quarterback play

  • Backup RBs who are one injury away from a meaningful early-down role

  • Bengals receivers at normal cost, assuming Higgins and Chase receive expected clearance

MOVE DOWN

  • Players with unresolved Week 1 availability, especially when their current ADP assumes a full workload

  • PPR-dependent receivers whose reception volume does not translate as well in standard scoring

  • Zach Charbonnet for redraft formats due to his required four-game absence

  • Tank Dell unless your roster construction includes an IR slot or deep bench

TEAM-BY-TEAM WATCH LIST

Cincinnati Bengals
Tee Higgins’ heel contusion is a monitor—not a fade. Chase and Higgins are expected to be limited during the week but have not been framed as long-term concerns.

Las Vegas Raiders
Ashton Jeanty’s ankle remains a key Week 1 variable. His roster status is encouraging, but clarity on practice participation and workload is more important than generic optimism.

Baltimore Ravens
Zay Flowers is a late-week practice report to watch. Rashod Bateman receives the clearest short-term boost only if Flowers is ruled out or demonstrably limited.

San Francisco 49ers
Kittle’s activation is a positive step, but managers need confirmation that he is fully available before treating him as an automatic Week 1 start.

Seattle Seahawks
Charbonnet’s PUP designation removes him from the first four games, creating an early opportunity for Seattle’s available reserve backs.

Houston Texans
Tank Dell is not an early-season lineup option while he remains on IR with a return designation. Keep monitoring the Texans’ receiver rotation rather than drafting Dell for immediate production.

STRATEGY NOTE

For a 12-team standard league, chase roles that produce touchdowns: primary early-down RBs, short-yardage backs, and boundary receivers who lead their teams in end-zone targets. Build your bench around contingent RB upside rather than low-ceiling WR4 options; a backup running back who earns a starting workload can become a weekly difference-maker.
