MORNING FANTASY REPORT — FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2026
Week 7 | 6:50 a.m. EDT edition

MORNING THEME

Availability comes first. Breece Hall returned to limited practice Thursday, Saquon Barkley is trending toward Monday, and Zach Charbonnet has been activated—but none of those developments guarantees a full workload. Friday’s practice reports remain important before committing to your weekend lineup.

This is the copy-and-paste version of this morning’s report, not an additional news refresh.

THURSDAY-NIGHT TAKEAWAYS

CHICAGO 30, NEW ENGLAND 24

Caleb Williams passed for 308 yards and two touchdowns, an encouraging result in your six-point passing-TD format. Cole Kmet injured his right knee late in the game, and Chicago expected more information Friday. If you roster Kmet, identify tight-end insurance rather than guessing at his return timeline.

PLAYER UPDATES AND FANTASY MOVES

LAMAR JACKSON — QB, BALTIMORE
Update: Limited Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury.
Fantasy move: Keep a Sunday quarterback alternative available. His return is not confirmed.

BREECE HALL / BRAELON ALLEN — RB, NEW YORK JETS
Update: Hall returned to limited practice Thursday. Allen has handled double-digit touches in three straight games without him.
Fantasy move: Allen remains more attractive if Hall sits. A Hall return would introduce workload uncertainty for both. Do not assume Allen gets another uncontested backfield.

SAQUON BARKLEY — RB, PHILADELPHIA
Update: Expected to return against Dallas on Monday, but not yet confirmed.
Fantasy move: Preserve a Monday alternative. Dameon Pierce is contingency insurance, not an independent start if Barkley returns.

BAKER MAYFIELD — QB, TAMPA BAY
Update: Full participant Wednesday and Thursday following his thumb injury.
Fantasy move: A replacement-QB candidate if cleared. His return would also improve confidence in Tampa Bay’s offense.

JORDAN MASON — RB, MINNESOTA
Update: Practicing fully, with a possible return from injured reserve this week.
Fantasy move: Check activation and final reporting before assuming he immediately reclaims a full role.

ZACH CHARBONNET — RB, SEATTLE
Update: Activated from PUP Thursday. A limited initial workload remains possible.
Fantasy move: Add for future value, but approach his Sunday-night return cautiously.

DAVANTE ADAMS — WR, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Update: On injured reserve, with a reported recovery estimate of 6–10 weeks.
Fantasy move: Use an eligible IR slot. Puka Nacua gains opportunity, while Tyler Higbee becomes a replacement-TE consideration.

MIKE EVANS / DEEBO SAMUEL — WR, SAN FRANCISCO
Update: Evans is expected to miss time with Achilles trouble. Samuel is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Fantasy move: Arrange replacements. Avoid treating an uncertain replacement receiver as a guaranteed beneficiary.

BROCK BOWERS — TE, LAS VEGAS
Update: Limited Wednesday with hamstring/calf injuries.
Fantasy move: Monitor Friday closely. Michael Mayer is conditional insurance if Bowers cannot play.

EMEKA EGBUKA — WR, TAMPA BAY
Update: Missed Wednesday practice with foot/concussion issues.
Fantasy move: Have a replacement ready rather than assuming clearance.

TANK DELL — WR, HOUSTON
Update: Expected to make his season debut this week after a lengthy absence.
Fantasy move: Prefer a bench stash over an immediate non-PPR start until his workload becomes clearer.

WAIVER AND VALUE MOVERS

IMMEDIATE HELP — CONDITIONAL ON AVAILABILITY

  • Braelon Allen: His strongest case depends on Hall remaining out. Thursday’s practice return means another uncontested backfield should not be assumed.

  • Woody Marks: A FLEX candidate if David Montgomery remains sidelined, but Houston’s continued backfield rotation limits confidence in a workhorse role.

  • Kendre Miller: An emergency FLEX consideration after 20 carries for 70 rushing yards last week. The Saints’ committee still creates risk.

  • Tyler Higbee: A replacement-TE candidate with Adams sidelined and Terrance Ferguson still recovering.

STASHES — NOT AUTOMATIC STARTS

Charbonnet, Mason and Dylan Sampson warrant attention where available. Activation, health and first-game usage matter more than the excitement of a return. These are watch-list recommendations, not claims that these players are available in your Sleeper league.

IN-SEASON VALUE CHANGES

  • Puka Nacua: Opportunity rises without Adams.

  • Stefon Diggs: Becomes more important to Washington following Terry McLaurin’s reported season-ending injury. Washington is on bye this week, so this is a future-value note—not a Week 7 start recommendation.

  • Braelon Allen: Hall’s possible return reduces confidence in Allen’s recent workload.

These are role-based assessments, not measured Sleeper ADP or transaction-price changes.

WEEKEND LINEUP PROTECTION

EARLY SUNDAY LOCK
Steelers–Saints in Paris begins Sunday at 9:30 a.m. EDT. Resolve those players before the usual afternoon lineup window.

WEEK 7 BYES
Buffalo, Jacksonville, the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington are absent from this week’s 14-game schedule.

SUNDAY-NIGHT RISK
Chiefs–Seahawks starts at 8:20 p.m. EDT. Charbonnet’s late availability and first-game role deserve extra caution if your alternatives play earlier.

MONDAY-NIGHT RISK
Cowboys–Eagles starts Monday at 8:15 p.m. EDT. Waiting on Barkley requires a viable late-game fallback.

STRATEGY NOTE

For your standard/non-PPR lineup, prioritize dependable touches and touchdown opportunity in close decisions. Keep later-starting RB/WR options in FLEX where possible to preserve alternatives.

The recommendations above are editorial fantasy assessments, not confirmed workloads or final rankings.
