MORNING FANTASY REPORT — FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2026
NFL WEEK 4
League: 12-team, 1-QB Sleeper, standard/non-PPR
MORNING THEME
Thursday night is in the books: Cleveland beat Pittsburgh 27–24 on a late 56-yard Andre Szmyt field goal. Browns and Steelers players are now locked for Week 4; the focus shifts to injury contingencies, waiver priorities, and keeping lineup flexibility for Sunday.
KEY INJURY UPDATES
JUSTIN JEFFERSON, WR — VIKINGS
Ankle sprain. He missed Wednesday and Thursday practices and remains day-to-day. Build a backup plan now, but do not panic-drop anyone valuable. Wait for the Vikings’ final designation and Sunday inactive list before moving him out of your lineup.
PUKA NACUA, WR — RAMS
Nacua was limited Wednesday and full Thursday. Sean McVay expects him to play against Philadelphia. If he is active, he is trending toward a normal start unless reliable pregame reports indicate a snap limit.
JAYDEN DANIELS, QB — COMMANDERS
Limited in practice with his elbow issue and traveled with Washington to London. Have a QB pivot ready because Commanders-Colts kicks off at 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday.
NICO COLLINS, WR — TEXANS
Limited Wednesday in his first practice since a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Houston is hopeful he can play. He is a ceiling start if active, but he carries more re-injury and workload risk than a fully healthy alternative.
MIKE EVANS, WR — BUCCANEERS
Day-to-day with rib/oblique concerns and missed Wednesday and Thursday practice. Treat him as a legitimate game-time risk. Set a replacement plan before Sunday morning.
BREECE HALL, RB — JETS
His thigh injury has elevated Braelon Allen into a potential lead-back role. Allen becomes a high-priority add and a possible standard-league starter if Hall is ruled out.
DE’VON ACHANE, RB — DOLPHINS
Torn ACL; out for the season. Ollie Gordon II is the primary Miami backfield pickup. Jaylen Wright is the higher-upside secondary stash if he is healthy enough to contribute.
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR., RB — SAINTS
Placed on injured reserve Thursday and cannot return until at least Week 8. Alvin Kamara gains short-term workload security.
WAIVER PRIORITIES
BRAELON ALLEN, RB — JETS
Top priority if available. His workload could expand immediately if Breece Hall sits. In standard scoring, a potential early-down and goal-line workload is worth aggressive FAAB or waiver priority.OLLIE GORDON II, RB — DOLPHINS
Achane’s season-ending injury opens up touches in Miami. He is the first add from the Dolphins backfield.JAYLEN WRIGHT, RB — DOLPHINS
More volatile than Gordon but worth stashing for upside. He practiced this week and could become relevant as Miami sorts out its new backfield rotation.JUWAN JOHNSON, TE — SAINTS
NFL.com listed Johnson as its top overall Week 4 waiver priority. He is a useful replacement if your current tight end has an unreliable route role or touchdown-dependent profile.KEENAN ALLEN, WR — COLTS
A short-term depth add and a possible London-game option against Washington.VIKINGS D/ST
A viable Week 4 streaming defense against Miami, particularly as the Dolphins adjust to life without Achane.TYLER HIGBEE, TE — RAMS
A speculative add. Injuries to Terrance Ferguson and Colby Parkinson helped push Higbee’s snap share to 71 percent.
SUNDAY SCHEDULE NOTE
COMMANDERS VS. COLTS — LONDON
Kickoff: 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday
Resolve all Washington and Indianapolis lineup decisions early. Do not wait for the normal noon inactive window.
LINEUP RULES
Keep your FLEX position open for Sunday whenever possible.
Use Thursday players in dedicated RB, WR, or TE slots rather than FLEX.
In standard scoring, break close lineup ties by taking the healthier player with clearer touchdown equity, goal-line work, or a path to 15-plus touches.
Do not overreact to Thursday scoring. Build the rest of your lineup around expected role, health, matchup, and touchdown opportunity.
If Jefferson, Evans, Collins, or Daniels is in your starting lineup, identify your exact pivot before Sunday morning.
UGLY WIN MOVE
Add one of Braelon Allen, Ollie Gordon II, Jaylen Wright, Juwan Johnson, or Vikings D/ST before your league catches up to the injury news. Then make a short note of every questionable player in your lineup and the replacement you will use if he is inactive.
