MORNING FANTASY REPORT — THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2026
Week 7 | Early-morning news snapshot

MORNING THEME

This morning’s priority is availability: resolve Thursday-night decisions, replace injured production, and separate immediate lineup help from longer-term stashes. A.J. Brown improved to full practice, Kyle Monangai was ruled out, and new injury concerns complicated Mike Washington Jr.’s waiver appeal.

The recommendations below are tailored to your league settings, but your roster and player availability in Sleeper have not been checked.

THURSDAY NIGHT WATCH — PATRIOTS AT BEARS

Kickoff: Thursday, October 22, at 8:15 p.m. EDT.

A.J. BROWN — WR, NEW ENGLAND
Update: Brown practiced fully Wednesday and was absent from the final game-status designations.
Fantasy move: Plan to start him, subject to the inactive list. His improved availability resolves the early-week ankle concern.

D’ANDRE SWIFT / ROSCHON JOHNSON — RB, CHICAGO
Update: Kyle Monangai is out, leaving Swift and Johnson in a shared backfield.
Fantasy move: Swift is an RB2 option. Johnson offers lower-confidence FLEX appeal, but do not assume he inherits a full workload.

DeMARIO DOUGLAS — WR, NEW ENGLAND
Update: Injuries to Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins have expanded his opportunity.
Fantasy move: Consider him a WR3/FLEX option. His reception-driven production carries more value in PPR than in your non-PPR format.

TREVEYON HENDERSON — RB, NEW ENGLAND
Update: Henderson practiced fully and is cleared, but committee concerns remain.
Fantasy move: Borderline FLEX. Being healthy does not automatically establish him as the lead back.

THURSDAY LINEUP STRATEGY
When possible, put Thursday starters in their designated RB, WR or TE slots instead of FLEX. Preserve both FLEX spots for later-game injury replacements.

MAJOR INJURIES AND FANTASY MOVES

TERRY McLAURIN — WR, WASHINGTON
Update: McLaurin suffered a season-ending patellar tendon injury.
Fantasy move: Replace him in redraft. Antonio Williams and Chig Okonkwo are potential opportunity beneficiaries, but Washington’s bye means neither solves a Week 7 lineup hole.

DAVANTE ADAMS — WR, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Update: Adams is on injured reserve with a reported absence of six to 10 weeks.
Fantasy move: Use an IR slot if available. Puka Nacua gains opportunity, while Tyler Higbee becomes a tight-end replacement candidate. Do not assume another Rams receiver absorbs Adams’ entire role.

MIKE EVANS — WR, SAN FRANCISCO
Update: Evans has an Achilles issue and is expected to miss time.
Fantasy move: Prepare another starting receiver. Avoid automatically promoting a fringe 49ers receiver into your lineup simply because Evans is unavailable.

BROCK BOWERS — TE, LAS VEGAS
Update: Bowers was limited Wednesday with hamstring/calf injuries.
Fantasy move: Secure a fallback. Michael Mayer becomes an injury-dependent alternative if Bowers cannot play—not an unconditional starter.

MIKE WASHINGTON JR. — RB, LAS VEGAS
Update: Washington was limited Wednesday with back/foot issues.
Fantasy move: Temper the earlier-week waiver enthusiasm until his practice participation improves. He remains a candidate to roster, but his immediate usability is less certain.

LAMAR JACKSON — QB, BALTIMORE
Update: The reviewed reports disagree about his Wednesday participation.
Fantasy move: Treat his status as unresolved. Keep a playable backup and follow the next official practice report rather than relying on a disputed designation.

WAIVER AND OPPORTUNITY MOVERS

OMAR COOPER JR. — WR, NEW YORK JETS
Update: Cooper produced six catches, 103 yards and a touchdown on seven targets.
Fantasy move: A priority availability check if you need immediate receiver help. His role still carries risk if Adonai Mitchell returns.

KENDRE MILLER — RB, NEW ORLEANS
Update: Miller handled 20 carries for 70 yards, although Alvin Kamara remains involved.
Fantasy move: A workload-based FLEX candidate. In non-PPR, rushing volume makes him worth evaluating, but do not project a locked-in lead-back role.

JORDAN MASON — RB, MINNESOTA
Update: Mason practiced fully.
Fantasy move: Check his availability if you need running-back help, but confirm his game status and any activation requirements before starting him.

ZACH CHARBONNET — RB, SEATTLE
Update: Charbonnet is practicing fully, with return and activation confirmation still important.
Fantasy move: An upside stash. Do not assume he immediately resumes a full workload.

DYLAN SAMPSON / JONAH COLEMAN — RB
Update: Both are practice-window names to monitor.
Fantasy move: Treat them as stashes pending activation and role clarification, not guaranteed Week 7 starters.

ANTONIO WILLIAMS / CHIG OKONKWO — WASHINGTON
Update: McLaurin’s injury creates potential opportunity.
Fantasy move: Consider them for Week 8 and beyond. Washington is on bye this week, so prioritize an immediate starter first if your lineup is short.

QUARTERBACK AND TIGHT-END CONTINGENCIES

BAKER MAYFIELD — QB, TAMPA BAY
Update: Mayfield practiced fully.
Fantasy move: A conditional replacement option against Carolina if cleared. Your six-point passing-touchdown scoring increases the importance of passing production, but that alone does not establish him as a top-12 play.

JALEN HURTS — QB, PHILADELPHIA
Update: Hurts is on injured reserve and sidelined indefinitely.
Fantasy move: Build a replacement plan rather than assuming a specific return date.

T.J. HOCKENSON — TE, MINNESOTA
Update: Hockenson practiced fully after Minnesota’s bye.
Fantasy move: A usable option if cleared for game action.

TYLER WARREN — TE, INDIANAPOLIS
Update: Warren missed Wednesday’s practice.
Fantasy move: Secure an alternative and monitor subsequent practice participation.

TYLER HIGBEE — TE, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Update: Adams’ absence creates additional opportunity, but Colby Parkinson remains involved.
Fantasy move: A streaming candidate, not a guaranteed target-volume replacement for Adams.

  • Dallas: No fresh core-starter practice change was highlighted in the reviewed report.

  • Philadelphia: Hurts is on IR. Saquon Barkley’s uncertain return and Monday timing complicate replacement planning.

  • Washington: Bye week; McLaurin is out for the season.

NFC NORTH

  • Chicago: Monangai is out; Swift and Johnson share the backfield.

  • Detroit: No fresh core-starter change was highlighted in the reviewed report.

  • New Orleans: Kamara was limited; Travis Etienne was absent. Miller remains a FLEX consideration.

  • Tampa Bay: Mayfield practiced fully; Emeka Egbuka and Bucky Irving did not practice.

NFC WEST

  • Arizona: Jeremiyah Love remains sidelined; Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight carry committee risk.

  • Los Angeles Rams: Adams is on IR; Nacua and the tight ends gain opportunity.

  • San Francisco: Monitor Evans and Deebo Samuel. Christian Kirk practiced fully in his return window but still requires activation.

  • Seattle: Charbonnet practiced fully; confirm activation and expected workload.

MORNING ACTION CHECKLIST

  1. Remove Bills, Jaguars, Chargers and Commanders players from Week 7 starting consideration.

  2. Resolve Thursday decisions before Patriots–Bears, with a final inactive-list check around 6:45 p.m. EDT.

  3. Reserve injury insurance for Bowers, Jackson, Warren and Egbuka. Wednesday participation is not a final Sunday designation.

  4. Check Cooper and Miller before using a needed roster spot on a longer-term stash. Both have recent production or workload supporting immediate consideration.

  5. Set Steelers and Saints players before Sunday’s 9:30 a.m. EDT kickoff in Paris.

STRATEGY NOTE

For your non-PPR lineup, use rushing workload and touchdown opportunity to break close FLEX decisions rather than chasing reception totals alone. Preserve flexibility around uncertain injuries, and do not confuse a player returning to practice with a confirmed return to a full role.
