monday night football recap - 09/22/26

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FANTASY RECAP
GIANTS 6, RAMS 28

FANTASY WINNERS

Matthew Stafford — 22/31, 327 passing yards, 4 TD, 1 INT

  • Huge QB1 performance and one of the best quarterback scores of Week 2

  • Stafford delivered about 27 fantasy points in standard 4-point passing-TD scoring

  • The Rams offense produced 481 total yards, confirming Stafford’s high weekly ceiling in favorable matchups

Davante Adams — 8 receptions, 195 yards, 2 TD

  • The unquestioned fantasy star of Monday night

  • Roughly 31.5 points in standard scoring and 39.5 points in PPR

  • Adams dominated with Puka Nacua inactive, showing he can carry the Rams passing game when given featured volume

  • He remains an automatic weekly WR1/WR2 start, even when Nacua returns

Terrance Ferguson — 6 receptions, 54 yards, 1 TD

  • Finished with roughly 11.4 standard points and 17.4 PPR points

  • His nine targets are the most encouraging part of the performance

  • Worth adding as a tight-end streamer, especially for managers dealing with injuries or weak TE depth

  • Do not assume this target volume is permanent once Puka Nacua returns

Rams D/ST

  • Held New York to 6 points, 182 total yards, and 52 rushing yards

  • Recorded an interception and consistently pressured Giants quarterbacks

  • Strong streaming defense moving forward against weak offenses

RAMS FANTASY TAKEAWAYS

Matthew Stafford
Stafford is a weekly QB1 candidate in the right matchup. Four touchdowns and 327 yards show that the Rams still have one of the NFL’s most fantasy-friendly passing attacks. He is especially valuable in Superflex leagues and as a matchup-based starter in one-QB formats.

Davante Adams
Adams is a must-start. His 195-yard, two-touchdown night was helped by Nacua being inactive, but it also showed that Stafford trusts him as a high-leverage target. Do not sell low or treat him as touchdown-dependent.

Kyren Williams — 12 carries, 85 rushing yards

  • The production was solid but not a ceiling performance

  • He did not score, while Stafford threw four touchdown passes

  • The Rams ran effectively, totaling 163 rushing yards, so there is no reason to panic

  • Continue starting Kyren as an RB1/RB2; better touchdown opportunities should come

Terrance Ferguson
Ferguson’s touchdown and nine-target workload make him worth a waiver-wire look. However, his role could shrink once Nacua is back, so view him as a streamer rather than a locked-in every-week TE1.

GIANTS FANTASY TAKEAWAYS

Jaxson Dart
Dart exited early with a left knee injury after just seven offensive snaps. His status is the most important injury to monitor this week because it affects the entire Giants offense.

Jameis Winston — 11/27, 111 passing yards, 0 TD, 1 INT

  • Winston struggled badly in relief

  • His 40.7% completion rate and interception make the Giants passing game much riskier if Dart misses time

  • He should remain on waivers outside of deep Superflex formats

Malik Nabers
Nabers had only one catch for one yard, but the result was largely caused by Dart’s injury and New York’s offensive collapse. Do not panic-bench or sell Nabers for a discount. However, his weekly floor becomes much lower if Winston is the starter.

Cam Skattebo

  • Led the Giants with 36 rushing yards

  • New York finished with only 52 rushing yards as a team

  • The poor stat line reflects the entire offense failing, not necessarily a major loss of role

  • He is a flex option until the Giants quarterback situation becomes clearer

Darius Slayton and Giants receivers
The Giants’ secondary receivers are difficult to trust if Winston starts. Nabers remains playable based on talent and volume potential, but the rest of the group belongs on benches until the offense stabilizes.

WEEK 3 FANTASY ACTIONS

  • Start Matthew Stafford in favorable matchups

  • Keep Davante Adams locked into lineups

  • Hold Kyren Williams; do not overreact to the lack of a touchdown

  • Add Terrance Ferguson only as a TE streamer or depth option

  • Stream the Rams D/ST against weak or turnover-prone opponents

  • Monitor Puka Nacua’s hip injury before making Rams receiver decisions

  • Monitor Jaxson Dart’s knee injury before starting Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, or any Giants receiver

  • Avoid Jameis Winston in standard one-quarterback leagues
